Standard work hours are Monday to Saturday, 7am–7pm, and any out-of-hours works are indicated below. All works will follow approved noise and traffic management plans, and every effort will be made to minimise impacts. You can also visit the Project Team in person at the Community Hub. Visitors are welcome to drop in during the following times:
- Mondays and Wednesdays weekly, during business hours
- Group bookings available by appointment.
The Community Hub is located at 71 Ewing Street, Bentley (between Sevenoaks Street and Albany Highway).
Out-of-hours works
The following activities may take place out-of-hours as required, until late May:
- painting of abutment walls
- steel fixing, form work and concrete pouring
- track finishing works
- station building works
- station car park and bus interchange works
- installation of public space elements.
Station works
There will be an increase in dust, noise and vibration during works at all new station sites for works including concrete pouring, drainage installation, structural steel installation, brickwork, internal fit outs and glazing. See project zone pages for details at each station site.
Site surveying (ongoing)
Site surveying, including use of drones at various locations along the rail corridor will take place regularly. Drone surveying will follow Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) requirements.
Service relocations, including Transmission lines (ongoing)
There will be an increase in dust, noise and vibration during location and relocation of services including power, gas, water and telecommunications at various locations along the rail corridor. This also includes Western Power works to move overhead transmission lines outside of the rail corridor. These works will enable the elevated rail infrastructure to be built. Driver Training (ongoing)
There will be an increase of trains on the tracks between Carlisle and Beckenham stations as driver training is underway. This is an important part of the commissioning process before passenger services resume on Monday 9 June.
Shared paths (ongoing)
There will be traffic management in place along the shared path. For shared path detours and access maps, see the respective project location areas for more details.
Public space works
There will be an increase in dust, noise and vibration during works for the new public spaces being built underneath the elevated rail. These works will include:
- earthworks and vegetation clearing
- drainage installation
- installation of public space elements
- painting of concrete elements of the elevated rail structure
- pedestrian pathway construction
- car park and bus interchange construction
- construction of noise wall near Cannington Station
- ground preparation and landscaping works.
