Works

Standard work hours are Monday to Saturday, 7am-7pm, and any out-of-hours works are indicated below. All works will follow approved noise and traffic management plans, and every effort will be made to minimise impacts. Rail corridor

  • intermittent works in and around the rail corridor between 7am and 7pm, monday to saturday (adjacent businesses and residents will be advised of any out-of-hours works).
  • heavy machinery, equipment and workers accessing the area
  • temporary road and path closures may be required to bring equipment to site
  • vibrations, noise, and dust will be managed.

Temporary bus interchange - from 11 May 

To support construction of the permanent bus interchange, the existing interchange will close.

A temporary bus interchange will open on Sunday, 11 May, located in front of the current station on the former car park site.

Bus services will continue without interruption, though some timetable adjustments may occur later to allow for increased walking time.

What to expect 

  • with the closure of the existing bus interchange and the opening of the temporary one, pedestrian and cycling routes will change
  • follow the designated paths shown on the map below and avoid construction areas for your safety

We recommend planning ahead and allowing extra travel time during these works.

 

 

Out-of-hours works

New Station 

What are we doing 

  • Installing structural steel for the façade

When 

  • 8am to 5pm Sunday 22 and 29 June (while other trades are not working nearby to improve safety)

Where 

  • New Midland Station site near the corner of Helena Street and Railway Parade

What to expect 

  • Cherry picker
  • Light vehicles
  • General construction noise
  • Please note some logistical movement of construction vehicles will be required on adjacent streets and through the construction site.

Morrison Road Level Crossing

What are we doing

  • Drilling under the road and rail

When

  • 8am Sunday 13 to 7am Monday 14 June (during reduced train movements)

Where

  • Morrison Road level crossing

What to expect

  • Light towers
  • Light vehicles
  • Drilling rig
  • Vacuum truck
  • Traffic controllers
  • General construction noise
  • Please note some logistical movement of construction vehicles will be required on adjacent streets
